The Explorers of Tyria (IC)

Kasaeva started to follow Gur but at the mention of food Kasaeva's stomach rumbled.  She supposed they would need to eat first.  Perhaps Gur would find his armor and join them.  If not, when they were done, she would go and find him. The group turned towards the docks, in the opposite direction of Gur. 
They found the little bar on the docks, just as promised.  Kasaeva spotted a little empty table and led the group over to it.  She sat down and looked around wondering what she should do next.

"BEER BEER BEER"...that's was everything in chill's mind until he realize that the other char, Gur had walked away from them. Still confused about what was going on, he saw the rest walking towards the bar at the docks and followed them, hoping that they can finally eat and drink now. They found a table and chill shouted ezcitedly, "10 jugs of BEER please!"

"Soory about that, I was too thirsty after that "swim" HAHA, order anything you want, i'll pay for this meal. Take it as apologies for the 'incident' before," said chill with a smile.

Kasaeva smiled, "Great!  Good job Cae!"  She jumped up and hurried over to the huge Norn Caevana had pointed out.  Although she wanted to hug him, she thought a handshake might be safer since she knew hardly anything about Norn culture.  She grabbed his huge dark hand with her little green one and shook it up and down with all her might.  "Thank-you Mr. Folkvar!  We are very hungry!"  She dropped his hand and turned towards the table laden with food.  Halfway to it, it occurred to her that she hadn't told him her name.  How rude of her!  She whirled around and ran back to him.  "Many apologies, Mr. Folkvar.  My name is Kasaeva."  She stood still for a moment pondering her rudeness and then moved off towards the table again.  She filled a plate with food and returned to the table she had found to eat.

Chill was downing his 8th jug of beer when he saw Cae walking over with a big norn. Feeling a bit tipsy, he walked slowly towards the pair, trying to find his balance while doing so. "Hey there! Name's chill and come have some beer with us. HA~", said chill to the new member.

"10 more jugs of beer over here!", shouted chill. He was having so much fun drinking and getting to know new friends. Being tipsy, everything in the bar seems a bit blurry but that doesn't stop him from thinking straight.

"So who's game for some adventure after our meal? Any ideas what we can do?", asked chill to the rest of the group.

Kalyenne walked up to the norn, Arden following in her wake.
"My name is Kalyenne," she said, "and my thanks for the meal."
She followed Kas to the table and helped herself to a large portion of food. Sitting back down at the table she ate quietly, feeding Arden small strips of meat. Talk changed to what they were going to do after they ate. Kalyenne had assumed that she would travel alone but Chill seemed to suggest that they could travel as a group. Well there was always more safety in numbers, Kalyenne thought, and it would be a good chance to increase her knowledge about charr culture. She wondered if the norn would travel with them. His imposing stature might help in some protection during their adventure.

Kasaeva perked up when Chill mentioned adventure.  She heard Folkvar say that he was going to Rata Sum and got excited.  She swallowed a mouthful and quickly asked, "An old friend?  Who?  And what for?"

Kalyenne winced at the mention of Rata Sum. The asuran city was not high on her list of places to visit. Asura often made her nervous and jumpy and she tended to avoid conversing with them when she could. But she had no idea where else to go. The people in this small group seemed so nice, what were the chances of her finding a similar group to travel with? Maybe they wouldn't stay long in the city. She fiddled with the food on her plate while she waited for Folkvar to reply to Kas. While waiting she also kept a cautious eye on Chill who had been drinking much more than she thought was safe. She hoped he didn't end up in a situation like Gur had. What was with the charr and their drinks?

"Rat Some? what's that? Is that some kind of new beer?", thought chill to himself. " I think i have a little too much of drinks HA, excuse me, i need to use the restroom", said chill to the rest and walked to unsteadily to the restroom.

After putting his head into the water barrel for the 5th time, chill finally got his senses back. "Phew, that was refreshing", thought chill while shaking his head dry. He slowly walk back to the others and said to Folkvar, "Sorry about that, now i'm ready for some adventure!, let's go do or eat that Rat Some thing you were saying.

Kasaeva started to respond to Folkvar when Chill announced his drunkenness.  She had already known that he had drunk way too much because he had started to sound like Gur.  As Chill wandered off to the restroom, Kasaeva's thoughts wandered to if Gur had had any luck in getting his gear back.  She remembered that she had been about to answer Folkvar before getting distracted.  She turned back to talk to Folkvar again when Chill returned and started talking about eating rats.  She stared at him in utter confusion.  What did eating rats have to do with adventures or trips to Rata Sum?  She shook her head, never mind, who cared?  What was she going to tell Folkvar?  She thought hard idly stroking one petal threatening to fall over her eye.  Oh, Rata Sum. 
"You're not staying in Rata Sum long?  Where will you go after Rata Sum?"  Kasaeva was excited about the prospect of an adventure.  She hadn't been quite sure how she was going to start one but it appeared that someone who knew had just been dropped into her lap.  She smiled sweetly and awaited Folkvar's answer.

Caevana finished her food. Ignoring Chill, she turned to the others and said “If nobody has any objections I think we should go to Rata Sum. We might find someone to help there. Besides the more the merrier right?”

Kasaeva had an objection, "Right this minute?  What about Gur?  He won't know where to find us!"  Kasaeva stood up without waiting for Caevana to answer her and took matters into her own hands.  She hurried towards Folkvar, pushing her way through the crowd that surrounded him which comprised mostly of Norns.  As she barely reached most of their waists, she weaved her way through their legs.  She finally reached Folkvar and tugged on his hand to get his attention, "Mr. Folkvar!  We would love to travel with you but we are currently missing one member of our party.  If it wouldn't be terribly inconvenient would you wait near the Asura Gate in Rata Sum for an hour or so after delivering your letter so we can join you?"

Kalyenne scrambled to her feet, stuffing some extra bits of food into her pack. If the road to adventure led through Rata Sum, who was she to question it? Stepping out into the bright sunlight she looked around for Folkvar. It wasn't hard to find him.
"Have you been to Metrica Province before?" Kalyenne asked him, thinking upon what she already knew of the place from the Dream. "It is not very far from the Grove but I have never been there before," she continued.

Kasaeva's eyes widened in surprise as Folkvar yanked her up by her hand.  She smiled with pleasure when he caught her and placed her securely on his shoulder.  She laughed when he answered her and ran back towards the table she had been at when he set her down again.  The sea of Norn legs began move towards the bar as she ran through it again.  She grabbed her bag, stuffed another mouthful of food in her mouth, and shoved the rest into her bag as she slung it over her shoulder.  She took a long drink of whatever was in her cup then slammed it down on the table and ran out in the direction of Folkvar yelling, "Come on!" to the others over her shoulder. 

Outside the bar area, Kasaeva spotted Folkvar without difficulty and ran up to him.  Not hearing Kalyenne's question, she repeated what she had tried to ask him inside.  "We want to travel with you but one of our party is missing and we need to go find him before we leave.  Would it be too much trouble to wait for an hour or so near the Asura Gate in Rata Sum after delivering your letter so we can join you?"

A smile of child-like pleasure spread over Kasaeva's face.  She clasped her hands with excitement.  "Well, he was heading to Lion Shadow Inn so we should start there." 

Kasaeva started out across the city when she remembered she should probably check to see that they were all present.  She whirled around and seeing Kalyenne and Caevana but not Chill asked, "Where's Chill?"

Kalyenne turned around, looking for the big charr. Not seeing him she turned back to Kas.
"Shall I go back inside and look for him?" she asked, wondering what was keeping him.

Kasaeva shook her head and marched back into the bar.  She made her way to the table they had been sitting at but saw a different group of people sitting there.  She walked up to them and said, "Excuse me, but was there a very drunk charr here when you came?"  They glared at her for interrupting.  Kasaeva, not comprehending why they were glaring at her cocked her head innocently and waited.  Finally, one snorted and said harshly, "No," then went back to his mug.  She shrugged her shoulders and weaved through the crowd looking for Chill.  She didn't see him anywhere and after a few minutes of searching, she walked up to the bar.  The bartender raised his eyebrows at her.  "Yes?" 
"Have you seen a very drunk Charr?" 
He stared at her for a minute and then burst out laughing.  He laughed hard, loud, and long.  Finally, he wiped a tear from his eye and said, "That's a good one missy." 
She looked at him, puzzled as to why her question was so amusing.  Then he, seeing her face, said, "What?  You were seriously asking that question?"  She nodded her head and to her increasing befuddlement, the man began laughing all over again.  After several minutes, to the point where Kasaeva was beginning to feel impatient with the man, he finally managed to speak between giggles, "Every Charr I've seen is drunk as drunk can be and there's lots of 'em and they all look the same."  Kasaeva snorted her disgust with the man because of his utter unhelpfulness and walked away. 
She sighed and looked over the bar.  Most of Folkvar's friends were still drinking themselves into an early grave making it very difficult to see anything.  After several minutes of wandering through the bar and not finding Chill, Kasaeva decided to give up.  She couldn't keep the others waiting any longer.  She walked out of the bar back to the group.  "He's not in there that I can see.  If he was paying any attention what so ever, he should know that we were heading to Metrica Province.  If he wasn't...well, we could spend the whole day searching for him and never find him again.  Best to move on." 
She turned towards Lion's Pride Inn and began walking, assuming the others were following her lead.

Caevana just watched as Kas went straight back into the bar, and watched as she came back without Chill. When Kas moved on, she moved with her in the general direction of Lion's Pride Inn. She wasn’t sure what they would find at the inn, but she hoped it wasn’t Gur. In fact, she would have been happy if they could have just moved on to Rata Sum. However she knew Kas, every promise had to be kept, which wasn’t a bad thing, but sometimes she promised things that Cae wished she hadn’t.

Kalyenne trailed a small distance behind Kas and Cae. The big group seemed smaller, even with the big norn. Arden was keeping close to her, seeming anxious in the big city. She felt slightly guilty for dragging him along with her on this adventure. Perhaps when they got to Metrica Province he would feel better, surrounded by trees and fresh air. Actually that sounded pretty good to her, she thought, smiling to herself.

"Thorns!" Kaly exclaimed as Arden got tangled up in her legs. She crouched down and gave him a quick hug to calm him. He licked her face and raced ahead to Kas and Cae, wagging his tail happily. Kaly shook her head in slight exasperation. In the distance the Lion's Pride Inn could be seen. It seemed to be quite popular, with members of all species hanging around the entrance. A few lionguards kept an eye on the crowd. Kalyenne re-adjusted her bag and hurried to catch up to the others.
